Decisions Made During the First Board of Trustees
Meeting January, 25, 2012
1.The engineering fees of $5,856.43 be paid to Bean, Whitaker, Lutz
and Kareh Engineers & Surveyors for the preliminary parking plan
preparation; payment for actual construction cost-estimate (that was
calculated to be $285,440 for 262 parking spaces, all utilities, and
footpaths) prepared by the aforementioned engineering company is
awaited and shall be paid later.
2.The Building Sub-committee shall investigate the possibility of
completing the parking plan project in two phases.
3.Active membership drive shall start with the India Festival on
February 4, 2012. Also, a goal to recruit a minimum of 20 members
at the Temple Stall was set.
4.Dollar-a-day donors – A goal to get at least 10 people to sign up
for this program at the India Festival.
5.An active Fund-raising Drive by the Executive Committee is
scheduled during the First Anniversary Temple Celebrations in
June, 2012.
6.The EC Fund-raising Sub-committee Chair to contact the people
for collection from their outstanding pledges of $169,000.
7.Yagnasala Construction: The EC President and Building Sub-
committee Chair to investigate a cost-effective and safe option for
the Yagnashala. They will get information from the previous Building
Sub-committee Chair regarding options previously explored.
8.Mold in the Storage Container: The EC President and the
Construction Sub-committee chair to investigate options and take
necessary action.
9.A Volunteer-roster from the EC and Board Members: A weekly set
of members, by rotation and one-at-a-time, shall volunteer to be at
the Temple between 6 to 8:30pm, and then another such weekly set
will continue. Those members who are unable to come to do so
may contact the EC President. The roster will be at the Temple. The
volunteers shall seek membership and provide receipt at the time
of collecting money.
10.Discussion on Tile-flooring was tabled but not discussed as the
previous Board of Trustees chair, its donor, neither attended nor
replied to the current counterpart's e-mail regarding this subject.
11.Temporary Dining Area on the North side of the Temple: The EC
President and the Building Sub-committee chair shall investigate
about such a proposal that it is county-approved and get back to the
Board.
